Last week, I made this project for my friend Brooke. When I was making this, I was practicing different techniques. I used different brushed to get different effect. I also did some splattering. For the splattering, I used a fan brush. I put on some paint and splattered by flicking my wrist towards the paper. For colors, I used mostly neutral colors like black, brown, gold, bronze, and silver. Another technique I used was putting a blob of paint on the paper and then taking a plastic fork and making different lines with that. The lines were all different, some were continuous and curved, others were shorter and ridged. After I finished painting and let it dry, I did the writing. Since I used neutral colors for the background, I used brighter colors for the words. I choose three different colors for the different words. They are yellow, green, and blue. I also painted a crown on since there was extra space. I then let it dry and I was done.
In my rain stick art project, I used the "I develop my art making skills" studio habit of mind. I had many steps to making this project. The first step was to assemble and fill the rain stick. The second step that I did was I paper mached it. My final step is going to be painting it. The element that I used most strongly in this was paint. I think my rain stick is creative and unique.
This is one of my main projects that I have been working on in class. The studio habits of mind that I have been using most of the time is solving problems. I had a lot of challenges during the making of this painting. One of them was that
I connected to Simon C Page because his art style. He uses graphic design to express himself. The strongest elements he uses in his artwork are lines and color. He uses mostly straight lines and he uses all bright colors. Because of that, I was really drawn to his work.
